Andy Strong Personal Trainer
Background to the Company
Hello my name is Andy Strong and I am the owner and lead coach at Fundamentally FIT Ltd. I first qualified as a Fitness Professional back in 2010 and have since been growing my knowledge base, expanding on my qualifications and helping more and more people realize dreams and achieve their goals.
Back in 2014 I decided that too much confusion was being placed around basic health and fitness and that new and improving exercisers deserved a clear and simple solution. With that decision made I launched Fundamentally FIT in the spring of the same year.
Fundamentally FIT is about real people not membership numbers. I struggled with my own weight growing up so now I want to help as many people to not only start their own journey but show them how to finish it, just like I did.
The name Fundamentally FIT was carefully selected out of a desire to deliver my clients the Fundamentals of what they actually need to get quality results. The name itself represents my strongest core value as a trainer and as a business.
Background to the Trainer
You may have seen the photos in my other blog posts about how I struggled with my weight growing up and how this affected my confidence, self esteem and health.
I went on a journey of change and educated myself on better diet and found ways I could actually enjoy exercise for the first time in my life. This was a tough journey and one that has shaped a great deal of my adult life. My new found passion for learning led me into Personal Training and I quickly found that coaching and helping others do what I had done was a very powerful motivator both as an individual and as a professional.
Because I know what it means to struggle with weight and a dislike of exercise I can relate to my clients in a way that others can’t, it also means I know when someone needs a push to get the best out of them.
As I found new ways to exercise and built my confidence I found a hidden talent for running which quickly developed into an expensive passion for triathlon. I have since race across the UK and Europe covering all distances from 5K to marathon and including two Ironman finishes.
Training Style: Partnership Approach
I am not a Sargent major style coach and instead prefer to educate, listen and encourage clients to understand why they need to make the changes necessary for success. I certainly know how to push my clients in a session but this is always with a carefully planned out reason based on their needs as an individual. I want my clients to make lasting change and so they need to be invested in the process, their diet, goals and exercise program, which means they have to take ownership and personal responsibility for doing the work. I provide the coaching, support, programming and accountability needed to keep the focus going long after the point where they would normally give up on their own.
